We're out of the Aughts and into the Tens, and I'm back with another update specifically designed to keep the internet from blowing away.

The race license application has been printed off and filled out in an appropriate manner.  Looks like I'm focusing on trading paint with the speedy cross country folk throughout the summer.  I'm not going to challenge our resident utility player Zach in the XC/DH-combo arena, mainly because he successfully took on the nighttime portion of the Red Bull relay at Tremblant with no lights.  I'm not nearly cool enough to pull that off.

Accompanying me on my timed laps will be a brand-new team kit (details to follow) and a new sled:

I've upgraded it with custom tire pressure, a water bottle cage, as well as a set of pedals.  I know that I'm adding a bit of weight with these, but I'm hoping that the improved functionality and comfort will pay off in the end.  The 2010 model comes stock with racing stripes, so you know it's going to be fast.  I rode a similar bike last year and it was suitable for all of my mountain bike needs:  XC, Short Track, Marathon, and coffee shop posing.

I've noticed that it's common to write about what one has been eating after training sessions.  I've already been one-upped on choice of training locale by Pat, so I feel compelled to keep up with him on the blogging front. Today I enjoyed some beef jerky courtesy of my favourite relatives from the prairies.  This high-protein/low fat food will help me build strong muscles necessary to outsprint and outblog my foes.  The natural smoke flavour will increase my popularity with the ladies.
